INSTALLATION GUIDE FOR NYS AIDS/PEP WIDGET FOR THE PC

Thank you for registering for the New York State Department of Health, Clinical Education Widget. To download the Widget on your home or personal or work computer, follow these easy steps. The entire process should take 3-5 minutes. Remember, that your serial number needed to complete the installation of the AIDS/PEP Widget was sent to you via email following your registration.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are downloading the New York State (NYS) Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP)/AIDS Widget on your WORK COMPUTER, your IT Department may prevent you from downloading any application without IT permission. If you receive an error message during the download or installation process, contact your organization's IT department and they will assist you to complete the download and installation.

1. Download Adobe Air, http://get.adobe.com/air/

2. Click the download button.

3. Your computer may take a few moments to respond. At this time, look at the top of your screen. If you see the message (below), place your cursor over the message, then right click.

4. The box below will appear. Click, "download file," and Adobe Air will download to your computer.

5. When the Adobe Air download begins, the file download box will appear. Click,"Run."

Download will begin.

6. If the screen below pops up while you are downloading click, "Run."

7. The dialogue box below will appear. Click, "I Agree."

The dialogue box below will pop up. Wait for the installation to complete.

8. Click, "Finish," and Adobe Air will be installed on your computer

9. INSTALLING THE PEP/AIDS WIDGET
Now you are ready to install the CEI AIDS/PEP Widget, click on this link: http://www.ceiWidget.com/CEI-Widget.zip

9a. NOTE: For some users the Widget download will appear at the bottom of their computer screen. Right click, and select "open."

10. More commonly, the dialogue box below will appear. Click, "open."

The download dialogue box will appear, below. Wait for the download to complete.

11. A small box shaped icon, labeled "CEI-Widget will appear. Click the box.

12. The dialogue box below will appear: Click, "Open"

13. The dialogue below box will appear next. Click, "Install."

14. Then, the box below will appear: Click, "Continue"

15. The PEP/AIDS Widget will open revealing a disclaimer, click "I agree"

The AIDS PEP Widget will prompt you for your serial number.

16. Cut and paste or type your serial number into the space provided. Remember, your serial number is located in the first paragraph of these instructions. It is a 6-character combination of letters and/or numbers. If you cut and paste make sure there are no extra spaces or characters, such as a period (.)

17. Click, "Next" and the PEP AIDS Widget will open. You can navigate the PEP/AIDS Widget by clicking any of the tabs.

The icon below will appear on your computer desktop. Click on the Icon anytime to access the NYS PEP/AIDS Widget. Content is regularly updated by the New York State Department of Health, AIDS Institute.
